Attempted kidnapping suspect arrested in La Cañada A man who was wanted for attempted kidnapping and human trafficking was arrested in La Cañada Flintridge Sunday morning, officials said.Around 8:50 a.m. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were alerted of a felony suspect through a public safety operating system named Flock Safety.The vehicle and the driver were apparently wanted in connection with the attempted kidnapping and trafficking case, officials said.A deputy spotted the vehicle and requested back up. Additional units responded when the vehicle was stopped near city hall, and deputies detained without further incident.The agency that had the warrant out for the suspect responded to the scene and took him into custody, authorities said without elaborating.No further details about the case, the arrest or the suspect have been released.

San Francisco Sureño sentenced to 26 years for killing teen, assaulting deputies, trying to smuggle drugs into Santa Rita Jail SAN FRANCISCO — A Bay Area man whose family members have been both implicated in violent crimes and experienced tragedy after tragedy has been sentenced to 26 years in federal prison for killing a 19-year-old man in a gang-related quintuple shooting, court records show.Jonathan Escobar, 26, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria, three months after Escobar pleaded guilty to using a firearm in a crime of violence, as well as two other felony charges related to assaulting deputies and trying to smuggle drugs into Santa Rita Jail. Man arrested on suspicion of stabbing his mother in San Jose (KRON) -- A man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing his mother to death in the Naglee Park neighborhood of San Jose on June 30, according to the San Jose Police Department. Why one small business owner is leaving San Francisco Officers were called to the 200 block of South 14th Street, just four blocks east of San Jose State University, on a report of a stabbing. When police arrived, officers found a woman inside of the home with at least one stab wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's son, Ammanuel Germay, was at the scene, and he was taken into custody as a suspect based on the preliminary investigation. He was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of homicide. The victim's identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after her next of kin have been notified.
