LISLE, Ill. — A single-family home in west suburban Lisle was destroyed in an explosion Saturday evening. According to emergency responders, no one was hurt. Neighbors in the area say the family was away on vacation.The stench of smoke hung in the air as debris remained scattered throughout the 4500 block of Ivanhoe Road. CHICAGO — Two men were injured Saturday afternoon in a pair of shootings on the West Side. The first incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 4100 block of W. OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. — Oakbrook Terrace has lost another battle in its fight to keep operating a controversial red light camera. A DuPage County judge in May ruled that the red light cameras near Oak Brook Mall at the intersection of Route 83 and 22 Street must be removed, upholding an order by the Illinois Department of Transportation to deactivate the camera. Austin (KXAN) — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department urges those hitting local lakes this July 4th holiday to prevent the spread of invasive Zebra Mussels and aquatic plants.According to TWPD, the invasive Zebra Mussel's first infestation in Texas was found in Lake Texoma in 2009 but are now in dozens of Texas lakes. The species is known to adhere itself to bottoms of boats and motors which makes them easy to accidentally transport.
